Liz: Chautauqua County to Sacramento: The Eucalyptus Smell

I live in Sacramento, California, though I have lived in Chautauqua County, and my father lived in Jamestown. I believe you are the one I emailed last year about a helicopter flying around for hours and smelling a eucalyptus scent on 9-11.

Well, guess what? The exact same thing happened this morning. Coincidence? I think not. I heard a helicopter this morning around 7 am and then smelled that eucalyptus smell. This time I closed my windows as soon as I became aware of what was happening. It is a police helicopter, just like last year, and it has been going on for nearly 3 hours now, again like last September 11th.

I saw the helicopter several times, am not seeing it now, but can still hear the sound from farther off. On top of that, I heard a helicopter last night and the night before, both times at around 11:30 pm. Of course, as a friend pointed out, they could have been looking for someone.

But last night, when I looked out, the night sky looked kind of milky. It was not a normal night sky. Though I didn't smell anything then. Awhile after I closed my windows this morning, because obviously some of the chemical had gotten inside the apartment, I had a headache, burning eyes, and scratchy throat. These were all fairly mild, but still. I didn't see any actual trails being created when the police helicopter flew over, but noticed that the general cloud cover gradually got heavier and heavier, and is now disappating.

There is one area of cloud that looks like it could be a lot of individual trails banded together, that is, it is striated. I guess this could happen if someone just kept spraying back and forth, and maybe the chemicals didn't become visible until later. The upshot is that not only am I afraid to open my windows right now, even though my apartment is too hot, I am also afraid to go out.

Could this be part of what they want? Although, I guess, if I had a job I had to get to, I would go out anyway. And I am going out this afternoon, and who knows how long these chemicals, and maybe germs, linger after they finish spraying? Anyway, I just think it's very odd.
