Just in time, hell-storm-super-typhoon Haiyan, slammed into the Philippines, Vietnam, and other Indonesian countries, with 201 mph winds and massive devastation. Super-typhoon Haiyan was blamed on climate change but in the age of designer weather nothing can be taken for granted.

On November 11th delegates gathered for the purpose of implementing the Kyoto Protocol, by designing a sophisticated "carbon" ponsey scheme to be foisted off on the peoples of the world. The conference is the United Nations UNFCCC COP 19 and CMP 9, commenced in Warsaw, Poland.

Notice the red kerchief on this delegates shoulder

The opening ceremonies were interrupted a stirring and tear-provoking speech by the Philippine representative. He declared that he was going to going to "voluntarily fast for the planet" during the duration of the conference until "a meaningful outcome is in sight." Attending delegates gave him a standing ovation and others resounded with solidarity and sympathy, "We stand with you," as the Philippine delegate wiped the tears dripping from his eyes. Was the Philippine typhoon and this speech theatrics? How many of you carry around kerchiefs on your shoulder just in case you have a teary moment?

Now the delegate is using the red kerchief to wipe his eyes

During his brief 5-minute speech, the Philippine delegate rolls his eyes when he refers to climate-change deniers or those who adhere to different ideas. He then proceeds to announce that he will refrain from food, a hunger-strike, until all objectives are met. This hunger-game is holding the world for green ransom. It was incredulous to watch the Philippine delegate fast-pitch a wish list of about ten demands with one breath.

Behind a tragic backdrop of disaster pain and suffering, the gauntlet was laid down, carefully and methodically utilizing emotion, to extract 100% commitment from attending countries to the entire Kyoto "commitment". The crown jewel will be the first-draft of a legal document to be signed by signatory nations next year in Lima, Peru.

Among the many issues the delegates will be examining will be:

Clarifying finance for developing countries to implement the Kyoto Protocol

Creation of a loss and damage mechanism for developing countries

And lastly, the first-draft or Roadmap of the Kyoto Legal Contract

Stay tuned for more developments because the conference will be another 10 days.
