Did some digging on this. Apparently the Agents listed on the purchase are part of the "Oceanic" side of NOAA and deal with illegal fishing operations for example: investigating the sale of shark fins or the use of illegal nets in coastal waters. Who knows, maybe they do come face to face with pirates or other threatening individuals in the course of their work.



Still, my hackles went up when I first heard of this.
