Found this little tidbit recently of an interview with David Keith.
David Keith on the BBC HARDtalk Show Geo-Engineering BBC Host - Stephen Sackur Too bad this did not air during prime time. The host Stephen Sackur did a great job of keeping pace and putting some pressure on Keith in the later part of the interview. It was quite interesting to see Keith squirm and try and dodge the direct question that was put to him regarding his conflict of interest over business to science advisory relationship. I don't think I've been witness to so much nervous gulping and vein popping!
This matter ties in closely with what had been discussed previously in the last thread about Keith -
David Keith advocating transhumanism
The thing about tools, he says, "is not that you have to use them: it's that you have to understand them." Keith
Ah yes, but lets not forget the old quote: "A weapon unused is a useless weapon" Author unknown
So a more fitting description of Keith would be that his role as of late is more so an
Enabler than a true scientist.
"Enabling is usually associated with negative connotations."
Dictionary definition: "to make possible, or easy, sanction, to make one able to do something."
An example of enabling even though you understand the consequences of the use of that tool Wikipedia has a more detailed description, "it is used in counseling, and in the broader context of problematic behavior, to signify dysfunctional approaches that are intended to help but in fact may perpetuate the problem. A common theme of enabling, in the negative sense, is that third parties take responsibility, blame, or make accommodations for a person's harmful conduct (often with the best of intentions, or from fear or insecurity which inhibits action). The practical effect is that the person themselves does not have to do so, and is shielded from awareness of the harm it may do, and the need or pressure to change."
Don't you find it strange that Keith is basically saying "oooh, this is not a good or moral thing that I am doing, but I am going to serve it up and promote it anyway."
You don't have to have a Spidey Sense to understand why we have to explore further Keith's association with the type of people that desire a large scale and immediate reduction in population. It would seem that there is a large infestation within the current scientific community that have a similar Eugenics / Malthusian mindset.
Who's hand will be on the thermostat? - is what Keith always likes to quote. - The more important question here should be: Who's hand is mixing the aerosols and regulates what goes into them? For this reason alone SRM should be terminated and not accepted into our daily lives like some sword of Damocles.
