Textbooks and News State "Global Cooling" is the Real Issue in the 70's
When I was in elementary school, we used to joke with our friends. If they were taking too long to do something, we would say:
"Hurry up! The ice age is coming".
This saying came from the fact that textbooks and school curriculum taught us that the Earth was cooling and that we were literally, "Headed for the next ice age".
This was the "accepted science" at the time. This was the "scientific consensus".
"Isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?" —Maurice Strong, founder of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP)
"In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill... The real enemy then, is humanity itself." -The Club of Rome, Premier Environmental Think-Tank, Consultants to the United Nations
