In 2012 Prof. Dr. Gertrud Höhler (Professor in Literature Science) published a book named "Die Patin" (The Godmother). Höhler describes in this book her view of Merkel's policymaking. Among other things Höhler accuses Merkel to rebuild Germany in a way to abolish the democracy in Germany.
The development of the relationship between Merkel and Höhler is therefore of interest as Höhler was clearly part of the German political establishment.
Now, after the year 2012, Prof. Dr. Gertrud Höhler has not been appearing in German TV of public law. Obviously, there is a ban on Gertrud Höhler now.
Höhler did not claim any political ambitions for herself as she has preferred her "freedom" already during the Kohl-period.
