If Volcanos would be responsible for the heating why ain't there any public discussion by the CO²-deniers?
This would be an easy task to redicule the CO²-topic. It is not done because there is no evidence for such a scenario.
The CO²-deniers make the sun mainly responsible for the climate change. For my part: The over-overwhelming glashouse gas is water in the form of clouds. CO² has a total share of 0,038 % of the earth atmosphere. How could 0,038 % be responsible for a climate change as the CO²-share of the atmosphere has ALWAYS followed in the past the change of the earth atmosphere. There war NEVER a change of the CO²-share BEFORE the change of the earth atmosphere.
Who is claiming that 97 % of all climate scientists have the opinion that CO² is the cause of climate change, although there is no evidence for such a constellation within the scientific community? In contrary, single climate scientists who are almost ready to retire dare to go into the stressful public arena to analyze critically the CO²-claim. The other ones are scared to have an opinion other than the politically wished one. Just look to the fates of Scott Stevens (Colorado) or Brandt (Germany). These fates demonstrate to other professionals what happens if you have a differentiated opinion. But in democracy and science there ought to be an atmosphere to have pluralistic differentiated opinions to find the best solution for society.
This does not mean that CO² could not be the cause of climate change.
There is no real neutral discussion about the role of CO² for the earth atmosphere. Therefore it is only a guided political discussion through the corporate media.
Therefore, the VW scandal can also be seen as a promulgation of an example to push the carbonfree agenda through. It is a fight within the establishment to restructure this same establishment. It is a warning against the competitor corporations of VW.
Dieter Zetsche of Daimler states that no car corporation has yet made money with electro-cars - also not TESLA.
Therefore the aggressiveness by politics.
Toyota has a hybrid model with a total of 1.000.000 cars sold. In my opinion, this would be the better way because the energy is being used more efficiently as you can collect the energy from slowing down of the car and still use the established gas station system. Without wasting tax payers money.
And Toyota has probably earned money with its hybrid model.
These decisions by politics are made to produce a panic with so-called facts which are no facts because there are no 97 % of the scientific community convinced about the cause of climate change.

By the way: there could be also the alternative of going into a Hydrogen-driven car world to become carbonfree. Why is this way not being pushed politcally?
