Full unedited interview with S. Fred Singer - Part 1

"Published on February 16th 2010:
In the 1960s S. Fred Singer was a leading figure in the early development of earth observation satellites, becoming a Special Advisor on space developments to President Eisenhower and establishing the National Weather Bureau's Satellite Service Center as well as becoming its first Director. Now he works tirelessly to debunk the bad science about man-made global warming. He is an amazing man. It was my honor to meet him at several conferences we attended and to interview him for “Global Warming: The Other Side.” Here is that complete interview."

" 'My own personal belief is that we should wait another 10 or 20 years to really be convinced that the greenhouse effect is going to be important for human beings, in both positive and negative ways.'

Roger Revelle, in a letter to then Congressman Jim Bates, July 14, 1988"

"Christopher Booker interweaves the science of global warming with that of its growing political consequences, showing how just when the politicians are threatening to change our Western way of life beyond recognition, the scientific evidence behind the global warming theory is being challenged like never before. --from publisher description"

"We should be careful not to arouse too much alarm until the rate and amount of warming becomes clearer. It is not yet obvious that this summer's hot weather and drought are the result of a global climatic change or simply an example of the uncertainties of climate variability. My own feeling is that we had better wait another 10 years before making confident predictions."
Roger Revelle in a letter to Senator Timothy Endicott Wirth, July 20th 1988

"In 1991, Revelle teamed up with Chauncey Starr, founding director of the Electric Power Research Institute and Fred Singer, the first director of the U.S. Weather Satellite Service, to write an article for Cosmos magazine. They urged more research and begged scientists and governments not to move too fast to curb greenhouse CO2 emissions because the true impact of carbon dioxide was not at all certain, and curbing the use of fossil fuels could have a huge, negative impact on the economy, jobs, and our standard of living. Dr. Singer says that Revelle was considerably more certain than he was at the time that carbon dioxide was not a problem."
