n. I am sure IPCC would then accept it, otherwise we can just throw it into the dustbin."

There is no "scientific consensus" on global warming

BACKGROUND
United Nations countries belong to an organization called the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which publishes a report every six years. Often referred to as the "climate bible" these reports are relied on by governments around the world.

The latest was released in 2007. Sometimes called the AR4 (the Fourth Assessment Report), it contains 44 chapters and is nearly 3,000 pages long. Written by people organized into teams - Working Group 1, 2 and 3 - it consists of three smaller reports bundled into one.

The chairman of the IPCC has repeatedly said the report relies solely on peer-reviewed literature to support its findings. He has said research that hasn't appeared in peer-reviewed journals should be thrown "into the dustbin" (see the last line of this newspaper article). But our audit has discovered almost 5,600 non-peer-reviewed references in this report.

In elementary schools in the United States, students are assigned grades ranging from an A to an F, based on the mark they've achieved out of 100 (see Wikipedia's table here). Most parents would be alarmed if their child brought home a report card similar to the one received by the IPCC.

"(...) Specifically, the IPCC did not look at the environmental or biodiversity impacts of their favoured technique: BECCS (bioenergy with carbon capture and storage) or of other so called 'negative emissions' technologies. Furthermore, recent scientific studies also show that these proposals are not technically or economically viable, but would imply large impacts on biodiversity and traditional livelihoods.[ii] (...)"

"These researcher have a political agenda" (about the IPPC)
https://bazonline.ch/wissen/natur/diese-forscher-haben-eine-politische-agenda/story/29438610

Interview:

Was machte Sie skeptisch?

Man will Sie also stoppen?

Was wären die richtigen Prioritäten?

Was wird weiter geschehen?

Translation:
"Mr. Mörner, you have been lately on the island group Fiji in the south pacific several times to make research the changes of the coasts and the sea level there. Why Fiji?
Nils-Axel Mörner: I knew that there is a science conference in New York in june of 2017 which concerns itself with the sea level changes in Fiji. And it was known that the island state will have the chair of the 23rd world climate conference which was proceeded in Bonn last november. Fiji was getting in the focus of interest. One was hearing that the rising sea level there had already wrought much damage. I wanted to review with my own eyes if that is right.
What made you sceptical?
I have been researching my whole life to the changes of the sea level and thereto traveling 59 countries. Hardly any other researcher has so much experience on the field. But the world climate council (IPCC) has all along presented the facts to this topic wrongly. He is exaggerating the risks of a level rise enormously. The IPCC is especially leaning upon dubious computer models instead of fieldwork. I want always to know what is the matter. Therefore I went to Fiji.
According to ProClim - the swiss platform for climate research ( https://naturalsciences.ch/organisations/proclim , Denglisch)- there are measurements series on Fiji which are showing a strong upward movement of sea level in the last decades. In concrete terms the level has been increased since 1990 annually with around 5,4 millimeter what has been double to the worldwide average.
Yes, I know these measurements. It is concerning two recording sequences of the tidal elevation - therefore of water levels at ebb and flow. We have checked these data - with the result that they are of very bad quality. The one recording sequence was influenced thereby that port facilities had been build on looser sediment ground close to the gaging station. This might have changed the tidal elevation values. With the other recording sequence the location of the measuring station was even displaced. The researcher who are banking on such data are office offenders. They are not specialized in coastal dynamic processes and sea level changes. Many of them have no clue of the real ratios.
How did you proceed to receive better data?
We have been pursuing on the one hand the adduced examples where the sea level rise should have led to coastal erosion. The result was that the erosion was caused by intervention of man - say by new coastal structures which changed the flows of water, or the intensified harvest of sea cucumbers what could have destabilized the subsoil beneath the seabed. To prove the changes of the sea level of the last 500 years we have dated the sand deposits to look when they were originated. Moreover we have research the spread of corals in the last centuries. Typically the coral reefs are growing upward if the sea level is rising, and in the width if it stays constant. If the level is decreasing corals are dying back. Corals are not lying they are a reliable indicator - much more reliable than tidal measurements.
What was the result?
We could substantiate that the sea level of Fiji had been seventy centimeters higher from 1550 up to around 1700 than today. Then it descended and during the 18th century it was fifty centimeter lower than today. Subsequently it rose to the today's niveau. The level has not changed crucially during the last 200 years. It was even utterly stable in the last fifty to seventy years.
Were you surprised?
Not really. After all it was not the first time that the allegations of the world climate council have been proven as wrong.
But Fiji is only a single island group. Possibly the situation is different in other places.
There are also data of many other places of the world. These are confirming certainly not the picture that the world climate council is drawing. In certain places the sea level is indeed actually rising but in other places it is stable, and someplace else it is yet sinking. For instance in the Indian Ocean and at the Atlantic coast of South America the level is constant. Also on the southpacific islands like Tuvalu and Kiribati the measurements are not confirming the steady warnings before a doom of these island groups. Surely the sea is stripping here and there the coasts, but elsewhere islands are also growing. This has alway been the case.
Why are many climate researchers warning of sinking islands then?
Because they have a political agenda. They are prepossessed to the importance that man is effecting the climate change, and that is a threat. The world climate council was after all founded with the purpose to illustrate the man made climate change and to caution against it. Its goal was therefore fixed from the beginning. And it is mantaining that like to a tenet - indifferently how the facts are.
As specialist for developments of the sea level I was determining in the last years again and again that the team of the IPCC has not one expert in this field to this aspect.
Is there anyway even no problem with the rising of the sea level?
No.
No danger that islands may sink?
The doom and gloom scenarios are refering indeed mostly to the year 2100. I estimate that the sea level will rise at an average of about five centimeters until then - with an insecurity of 15 centimeters. The change is going therefore from plus 20 centimeters to minus 10 centimeters. This is truly no threat. Who is claiming it is threatening a rise of about a meter or alike doesn't have any idea of physics.
But there is much melting water of the glaciers and the ice shields flowing into the sea.
Much less than people believe. In Antarctica no ice in total is melting. If ice is melting in Arctica the sea level won't melt - because swimming ice does not - according the laws of physics - influence the level during melting. Basically only the melting ice on Greenland contributes to a level increase. But this contribution is small.
Sea water is warmung up and is expanding thereby what is increasing the level.
That's right but it concerns here only a couple of centimeters, not of decimeters or even meters. Principally there are much more important influences which are influencing the height of the sea level - especially the solar irradiation. There are also substantial horizontal water shifts - from one ocean to the other. As the data of Fiji are showing - also those of the Maldives - that the level was clearly higher in the seventeenth century than today. That was tellingly the time when it was cold in the northern hemisphere - it is spoken of the small ice age. At that time the solar irradiation was lower than today. It was the big solar minimum. It would appear to be the case that deep solar irradiation is going along with high sea levels in the tropics - and vice versa. The sea level seems to depend first and foremost on the oscillation of the solar cycles and hardly of the melting ice.
You are ranking to the most profiled critics of the world climate council. What caused that you distanced yourself to the warnings of a man-made climate change?
In 1991 I gave a scientific talk in the USA on a conference about sea level changes. The representative of the world climate council sitting there reacted to my points of view with great fury. I was surprised by this reaction. It is seen in circles of science that you are listening to each other and debating the different points of view. In a row it struck me more and more that the world climate council spreads totally wrong informations and cling to obvious mistakes. Then I published once a study about the influence of the sun to the sea level which was backed by 19 recognized experts. However, the world climate council attacked this work with scandalous allegations and caused the cessation of the scientific magazine in which the study had been published.
They want therefore to stop you?
I can't be stopped. Until today I have published 650 scientific papers. But the young colleagues who are thinking critically don't have a chance in face to the manipulations. Basically it is like that most of the editors of scientific journals won't accept any papers anymore which are opposed to the allegations of the world climate council - independent of the quality of these papers.
But 97 percent of the climate researchers are convinced that the global warming is man-made?
That is rubbish. This number reposes on unserious polls. In reality the majority of the researcher are rejecting the allegations of the world climate council, depending on the field it's between 50 and 80 percent. Only the meteorologists are agreeing to almost 100 percent with the IPCC. But these people are financially dependent on the world climate council.
Doesn't it make basically sense to reduce CO²?
Why that? It is obvious, that CO² is not the essential beater of temperatures. It is remarkable that the world climate council itself has reduced repeatedly the announced warming in the last years. If one calculates only with 1,5 degree higher temperatures, that is really of no significance.
Why do we hear so many warning about the climate change?
A few people have exposed themselves strongly with their allegations and can not go back anymore. Moreover public research money is flowing almost solely to the warners of the climate change. We have to do it hee with a quasi-religious movement which is claiming to want to protect the environment. Meanwhile it is putting the fight against the global warming before the fight against poverty.
What were the right priorities?
The protection of persons from natural desasters like earth quakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamies would be important. Moreover 25.000 persons are dying every day because they don't have any access to clean drinking water. The supply with food products is often catastrophically alike. Nevertheless, for instance Nigeria is restrained from using coal developing that way the economy and wealth for reduction of hunger and poverty. Thereby there are efficient technologies nowadays to filter the air contaminants during the coal usage. The fight against the climate change is effectively damaging men very bad.
What will happen next?
It is expected that the solar irradiation will drop in the next decades and it comes to a cooling. Then - at the latest - it will become clear how wrong the warnings of the global warming are."
