Acceptable Content: The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has become a very hot issue in our groups and around the world. We have created this page to clearly explain our group policy on this subject.

Getting Feedback From Our Members

In January 2018 and May 2019, we conducted polls to understand what members preferred. The results, shown below, indicate that a majority of group members are willing to confront difficult or controversial subjects. Members favor the freedom to educate over censorship in most cases.

Our policies respectfully consider the will of our group members on both sides of the issue while striving for an environment that is family-friendly and unity-building. These goals may seem mutually-exclusive, but they are not. The ability for us to communicate and share information and opinions pivots on each member's level of personal maturity and self-control.

Below are the results of the polls mentioned above.

Poll: January 2018

Poll: May 2019

Censorship and Personal Responsibility

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict affects the entire globe. It will become one of the pinnacle-issues of history. For this reason, it would be irresponsible for us to censor this issue from our groups. We do, however, require that all posts follow group rules and contain reliable information or well-expressed opinions. Posts that belittle, shame, gloat, or intentionally hurt others will be removed.

On Facebook and other social media, group administrators are expected to exercise a reasonable measure of control over content, however, individual members are also responsible for helping the group. Facebook provides effective tools for both admins and members to this end.

The Role of Members

Group members often forget the role they play in the success of any group. Administrators remove content that violates group policies, but members must not overlook their responsibilities to the group. Below are some examples.

Know and Abide By Group Policies: Members should review group policies before participating in any group.

Report Posts: Members should report content that violates group policies. This is critical because it is physically impossible for administrators to monitor each and every post made in large groups.

Self Moderate: Social media platforms provide effective tools that enable members to block other members and to block posts/content they don't want to see. These tools are provided to enable you to control your own experience. Please use these tools.

  • If you see content you want to avoid in the future, hide the content using the controls in the post's menu.
  • If you see a member regularly posting content you don't want to see, block the member using the controls in the post's menu.

Ultimately, what you see is completely up to you.

The "Open Discussion" Principle

The Principle We Strive For

The greater principle we want to abide by in our groups is this:

We support the open discussion of conflicting ideas believing that best ideas will eventually become generally-accepted for the greatest good of all.

The World We Live In

This is a great principle that works well under "normal" circumstances. Unfortunately, as many of us know, we live in a world were very powerful corporations and power brokers are attempting to subvert truth for their own profit and benefit. These power brokers utilize techniques—"information weapons"—to shape and mold public opinion, beliefs, and behavior.

Examples of information weapons include:

  • Censorship: Prohibiting the discussion of certain ideas. Censorship is used when ideas have a high probability of being accepted by the public. In this case, the most effective way to prevent these ideas from gaining widespread acceptance is to remove them from the discussion entirely.
  • Propaganda/Disinformation: Promoting lies to induce false beliefs and/or confusion. People act on what they believe to be true, so this tactic is ultimately a form of behavior manipulation.
  • Slander: Promoting lies to disparage the reputation of the messenger of an idea. For example: Attaching the phrase "phobe" to an idea makes any messenger of the idea appear "fearful" or "cowardly". This causes the hearer of the idea to become afraid to adopt the "phobe" idea for fear that they will be considered weak, fearful or cowardly by others. It plays upon people's inherent fear of rejection. This tactic is especially effective against those who are fearful of the opinions of others. Unfortunately, this includes a considerable portion of the population.
  • Impaired Cognitive Ability: Many of the toxic substances we are exposed to on a daily basis (mercury, for example) are known to lower I.Q. and cognitive ability, and to increase emotionalism. These personality alterations result in a more "emotionalized" person with an impaired ability to discern truth using logic and reason.

Defending Against Information Weapons

As much as we'd like to employ the "open discussion" principle unhindered, the information weapons utilized by power brokers makes this impossible. Power brokers hire corruptible persons to join groups and destroy the integrity of the open discussion using various methods such as:

  • Ridicule: Introducing ridiculous ideas into the discussion for the purpose of making the group lose credibility in the public eye.
    • "Do you know how stupid you look?"
  • Social Pressure: Making people afraid of what others think of them.
    • "Your are a (insert-subject-here)-PHOBE"
      "Your idea is stupid."
    • "No one will ever believe you."
    • "Everyone is leaving your group."
  • Psudo-Science:
    • "You obviously don't know high-school science."
    • "Your claims oppose basic science."
  • Misrepresentation:
    • "I'm an expert in the field so I'm qualified to tell you that you're wrong'."
  • Fear:
    • "If you say (insert-subject-here) publicly then you're going to get in trouble."
  • etc.

Making It Work

With all this information warfare going on, how do we make a group work?

First, group members must understand what we are up against.

Second, admins must walk a very thin line to filter out information weapons while retaining valid discussions. This is not easy and can be very time-consuming.

People who have never administered a group—much less a very large group—have no idea how much time and effort it takes. They also have no idea how much abuse admins endure from disgruntled members who think they can do it better. Needless to say, it requires a very thick skin and a lot of time.

To make a group work, group members must respect that fact that everyone must to work together to solve problems. This has never been more truth than it is today because we are up against state-of-the-art propaganda and disinformation with virtually unlimited funding. For these reasons, admins must carefully understand discussions determining who is sharing useful ideas and who is attempting to harm the group. This is a very difficult and time-consuming task.

The bottom line is this: We must allow the discussion of valid ideas while filtering out intentionally-corrupt ideas, and this takes the combined effort of members and admins working together.

Good Policy

We achieve this fine balance by implementing a good policy executed by admins who understand our goals and members who understand the level of opposition we face.

With all of the above information in mind, we have developed a policy that will achieve this balance allowing the free flow of ideas while filtering out ideas that are intentionally designed to undermine and destroy.

The Core Issues

There are a handful of core issues that surround the Israeli-Palestinian conflict which are constantly raised in our groups. The issues we continually see are:

  • Does Israel have a right to the land?
  • Does Israel or Palestine have the right to use military force?
  • Is the formation of modern Israel an act of God?
  • Do Jews control media, or the world?
  • Is the United States controlled by Israel?
  • Is Islam a religion of peace?
  • Is Islam conspiring to control the world?

Considering all of the difficult subjects we have to deal with, we have formulated a policy that we believe will strike an effective balance between allowing free conversation and preventing information weapons from causing harm.

Why Diverse Content?

Finally, we must address one of the most common misunderstandings people have about the diversity of our group content.

A common complaint of members is that we allow too many subjects. These members claim that the group should only allow posts about chemtrails and geoengineering.

Another common yet diametrically-opposed complaint is that too much content gets removed.

So what is the solution?

First, members who don't want to see certain content can block other members or individual posts. We realize that members often don't want others to see certain content, but this raises the question: Where does the censorship stop, and who makes the decisions? Facebook provides very effective tools to self censor without affecting the online experience of others, and this is usually the best and most efficient solution we have available.

Second, it's vital for members to realize that it is impossible to explain chemtrails if the audience does not understand how the world really works.

Not surprisingly, these same questions are constantly raised by trolls/shills when they attempt to discredit our group:

For example, if you tell a someone that the government is spraying poisons on the public, they will reply with any number of responses.

  • "If they were spraying us, we would know because the press would tell us."

In this case, the person needs to be educated about the fact that a very small number of enormously-powerful corporations own and control all mainstream media in the world. They also need to know these few corporations work together very closely towards the same goal of establishing global government.

When you tell the person this, they might respond with:

  • "Why would different companies work together?"

Now they need to be educated about how the globalists/power brokers have a religion ("the mystery schools" religion) which requires them to swear oaths that they will work closely with each other to accomplish their goal to establish global government.

Suffice it to say, the need for diverse information in the group becomes self evident once you trace the course of any reasonable conversation.
