This passage is remarkable as the dream of the Materials Research Society is that of a STABLE environment and that of ABUNDANT and CLEAN ENERGY. Somehow it contradicts that of CLEAN WATER. And the dream of CLEAN AIR is not there at all, as this feature can be dreamed only without materials which can not be in the interest of an interest group which enhances exactly the topic of application of new kinds of materials.

The dream of a STABLE environment seems to connect to the vision described in the study

In other words: In this dream we find the technological version of the "New World Order". All the phantasies about the "New World Order" seem to be realistic enough to consider that the "New World Order" is really on its way. And the metapher of the "New World Order" came from George Bush senior - not from any "conspiracy theorists".
